letterpal is really easy to use:
- Find fresh, interesting news in your industry
- Add them to your newsletter template
- Generate, edit and copy/paste
Let's dive into each of these steps:
1/ Find Interesting News In Your Niche
The first thing you see after signing into your letterpal account is the Stories Feed.
All you need to do is pick one or several topics (AI, Finance, Crypto, Creator Economy, SEO, etc.) and you'll immediately see every news story relevant to that topic.
Most stories have labels to help you sort through them:
- The 'Popular' label is applied if a story has been picked up by many outlets.
- The 'Super Fresh' label indicates that a news story is less than a day old.
- The 'Featured Story Compatible' label indicates you can use that story as a Featured Siece (more on that in the next section) for your newsletter
2/ Add Stories To Your Template
Whenever you find a news story you think your readers will enjoy, simply drag & drop it in your newsletter template.
The template consists of:
- An intro: generated using the information you provided about your publication
- News You Can't Miss: a section dedicated to short news in bulletpoint format. We recommend dropping 5-10 news stories in that section
- Featured Story: a full-length story. This section can only contain one news story which needs to have a "Featured Story Compatible" label.
- An outro: generated using the information you provided
For now, the template is the same for everyone. But we're actively working on supporting custom templates.
3/ Generate with AI
As soon as your template is complete, you can press the "Generate" button to create a newsletter containing all the news stories you selected. Pressing that button consumes one credit.
You'll find the generated newsletter in a Notion-like text editor making it extremely intuitive to edit and easy to copy/paste into your favorite newsletter sender without losing formatting (supports Beehiiv, Substack and many more).
